The Crime Scene Chronicles Episode 3
The rain had finally stopped.
Crime scene tape fluttered in the cool morning breeze as investigators combed through the wreckage of the crashed aircraft. Flashing lights reflected across puddles while photographers documented every piece of twisted metal and scorched debris.
The body they expected to find...
Wasn't there.
No footprints led away from the crash.
No signs of a survivor.
No evidence of a rescue.
Only questions.
As detectives searched the surrounding woods, one investigator noticed something unusual beneath a weathered oak tree nearly one hundred yards from the impact site.
A small leather notebook.
It wasn't burned.
It wasn't soaked.
It looked as though someone had intentionally placed it there.
Inside were only a handful of handwritten entries.
Most of the pages had been torn out.
The remaining words sent a chill through every investigator standing there.
"If you're reading this... the assignment was never the mission."
The page ended there.
No signature.
No explanation.
Just silence.
Back at headquarters, forensic analysts confirmed there were no fingerprints on the notebook.
No DNA.
Nothing.
Someone had gone to extraordinary lengths to erase every trace of their identity.
Yet one clue remained.
Pressed between two pages was a faded photograph of four people standing together years earlier.
One face had been carefully scratched away.
Who was missing?
And why had someone wanted them erased from history?
The investigation was no longer about a plane crash.
It had become something far more dangerous.
Someone wasn't just hiding the truth.
They were rewriting it.
